Bad Examples

What is wrong with the email? How can we fix it?

🧩 Guided Practice

Let’s write an email together: Scenario: You were absent and need to ask about missing work. Example Email: Subject: Absent on Monday – Missing Work Dear Ms. Taylor, I hope you're doing well. I was absent on Monday and wanted to ask what assignments I missed. Could you please let me know what I need to complete and when it’s due? Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Jordan Martinez

✏️ Independent Practice Situations

Have students write emails for one of these 3 scenarios:

  • You don’t understand a math assignment and need help.
  • You want to ask for extra time to finish a project.
  • You want to thank your teacher for helping you prepare for a test.
