Early Life

Freddy Mercury was born in Zanzibar, off the east coast of Tanzania. He grew up happily with his family. However, in 1964, the Zanzibar Revolution broke out which put Freddie and his family in great danger.

Freddie's Migration

Freddie's parents decided that they had no choice but to leave. They packed up what they could and left their old life behind, searching for safety in London. At first, Freddie and his family found life hard. They had to learn a new language, adjust to a new culture and find a way to fit in. But eventually, Freddie found new opportunities - joining an art school and following his passion for music.

  • He became one of the most famous singers ever known.
