You and this SOAP Bible Study

As a born-again Christian, reading and studying our Bibles is an integral part of our walk with God. This is how we get to know God and all the promises he has for your life. SOAP is an inductive Bible study method that structures and simplifies the 4 critical areas of good Bible studying:

  1. God’s living word (Scripture)
  2. Our engagement with His word (Observe)
  3. His word lived in our lives (Apply)
  4. Our communion with the living God of the Bible (Pray).

Start with prayer any time you study the Bible. Give God any heaviness and/or distractions and ask God to open your heart to His Word. This will shift your perspective towards gratitude for God’s love and opportunity to study this Word.

PRAY

As you wrap up your time studying and reflecting on God’s Word, pray about what you’ve learned and what the Holy Spirit is teaching you.

  • Ask Him what actions and changes you must make.
  • Repent and ask forforgiveness.
  • Ask him for understanding and wisdom.
  • Thank God for v truthand faithfulness.
