Management and Care Coordination of ILA Patients
Module 3
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Assess patients with interstitial lung abnormalities using symptoms, risk factors, pulmonary function testing, and imaging findings to determine progression risk and appropriate follow-up strategy.
- Differentiate between ILAs and ILD by applying radiologic, physiologic, and clinical criteria that define disease progression and diagnostic thresholds.
- Identify patients who meet criteria for progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF), using imaging progression, functional decline, and symptom worsening to guide timely intervention.
- Develop individualized management plans and referral pathways based on a structured, risk-stratified approach, ensuring appropriate care escalation for high-risk patients.
- Explain the role of multidisciplinary discussion (MDD) in the diagnosis and management of ILD, including how MDD improves diagnostic accuracy, treatment selection, and long-term outcomes.
