embracing empathy and kindness

around campus

Spreading Kindness

Kindness creates a positive campus environment where everyone feels valued and respected. It boosts well-being, builds stronger friendships, and promotes inclusion.

Spreading Empathy

Empathy means understanding and sharing another person's feelings. It’s about putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and responding with compassion.

Let’s make our campus a kinder placeone act, one word, one smile at a time.

7 Days of Empathy & Kindness Challenge

#BishopBeliefs #EmpathyMatters #BeTheChange

Day 1 – Smile & Greet Say hello or smile at five people around campus — classmates, staff, or strangers. Day 2 – Listen Actively Ask someone how they’re doing and really listen to their answer. Day 3 – Share Gratitude Thank a professor, coach, or friend for something they’ve done recently. Day 4 – Include Others Invite someone new to sit with you at lunch, study, or hang out. Day 5 – Write a Note Leave an encouraging message on a roommate’s door or classroom board. Day 6 – Help Out Offer to help someone — carry books, open a door, or assist with a project. Day 7 – Reflect & Repeat Take a moment to think: How did showing empathy and kindness change your week?
