What do you want to bring to the student council this year?
"I hope I can bring my leadership skills that I've learned throughout the years and help lead the student council program to success while helping with everything that is asked of me and having fun."
What do you want to bring to the student council this year?
"I want to get better at public speaking and get to know my class better so I can hopefully continue as an officer throughout high school."
What are your favorite activites to do in your free time?
"Just like my dad, I really liked soccer growing up. Its been a huge part of my life. I think I joined soccer when I was 7, and I've just continued playing since then. To be completely honest, I like to talk a lot; so I thought debate could be a good way to use my talking to help me. Choir helps me stay calm when I'm under pressure from when I've caught a couple of solos or made a couple of region choirs."
What do you want to bring to the student council this year?
"What I'm good at is talking in front of crowds, so I would like to bring my fun energetic vibe. Later in the year, I do want to do a neon pep rally like the high school."
What are you expecting/looking forward to in your new position?
"I don't think I can reveal our plans just yet because we want to keep it private, but I'm really looking forward to some of the ideas that we have for pep rallies and donation drives. We have one dinner coming up with the middle school student councils, and I'm really excited for that. I'm really just excited for everything that we can do to help the school. I think student council just gives me a platform where I can say my ideas, because I've looked around the school, know lots of people, and I'm pretty close with my friends, so I know what's going on and have heard some of their problems."
When did you find out you were elected, and how did you react?
"I was getting a haircut and I got an email from Miss Begle. I was just really happy."
What do you want to bring to the student council this year?
"I want to improve the school by making it feel like one big family, and I want student council to be the core of that. I want to introduce events and games to make everyone feel interconnected. I also want to do more volunteering events to help students grow in their skills."
What made you apply for student council executive?
"For the past six years going on seven, I was in Student Council. Last year I was the Student Council class president [at Copell Middle School East], and I just fell in love with helping my school and community. I wanted to continue that this year."
How did you campaign prior to the election for this position?
"The first thing I did was tell a lot of my really close friends, and tried to get them to tell their friends. I told other people that I didn't know of why they should vote for me. I remember one of my friends got everyone in his advisory period to vote for me."
What made you apply for student council executive?
"I wanted to help the other students' voices, to reach out to people who I wouldn't normally speak to."
What made you apply for student council executive?
"All of my friends told me that I would be a good leader and it seemed like something fun to do so I decided to apply and here I am."
What made you apply for student council executive?
"I wanted to apply to the student council executive board because I wanted to improve my leadership and ability to speak in front of big crowds. When I was younger, I was super uncomfortable with speaking infront of large crowds. Joining the executive board will help me improve."
Is there any specific person that inspires you to be a leader?
"My dad, who pushed me to do this, and he is my role model. He is on the board of Veerashaiva Samaja of North America (VSNA), which I am also a part of. "
Are there any goals you have for yourself or for Student Council?
"Well last year, I decided that Taylor's Garden [at Coppell Middle School East] was looking pretty sad so we should revamp it. We ended up doing that and the news came out an it was a really big deal. I was hoping to do something similar to that this year."
Why did you run for a position on the Executive Board?
"I ran to help make CHS9 a better place, and to get some leadership opportunities too. I think it started back in middle school when I saw student council in the announcements and thought it was a really cool thing I could try out for, but I was a little shy and I didn't really want to be one of the leaders. Now in 9th grade I've made a lot of new friends and know a lot of people, so I decided to actually try it out."
What made you apply for student council executive?
"I wanted to improve my leadership skills and my communication skills by planning events and leading meetings. Doing these things will not only help me plan better in the future but connect with the student council team as well."
What are you expecting/looking forward to in your new position?
"I don't think I can reveal our plans just yet because we want to keep it private, but I'm really looking forward to some of the ideas that we have from pep rallies to donation drives. What do you want to bring to the student council this year?
"Nothing too specific, I just want to bring my leadership skills and communication to Student Council this year. Some of our plans are still in the works but I am really excited for that stuff."
What are some things you like doing in your free time?
"I have been playing softball since I was 4 years old and it has become a big part of my life now.Sometimes I like playing basketball and volleyball and watching movies with my friends that are funny."
What do you want to bring to the student council this year?
"Often I find that during pep rallies or whole school events, the same kids are always being nominated to play games or speak in front of everyone. One of my goals while joining the executive board was to include other students that don't normally participate in these kinds of events."
