About Founders

According to Genially's official website, the company was founded in 2015 in Córdoba, Spain, by Chema Roldán, Juan Rubio, and Luis García. Their mission was to revolutionize communication by providing a platform that enables users to create interactive and engaging content without the need for programming skills. Since its inception, Genially has grown significantly, with over 36 million users worldwide as of 2024. The company has received various international awards for its innovation in the digital space. About Genially

Every great journey begins with a great entry.

Lab: Features

Ideas that make a difference are born here.

Office: Usability & Aesthetics

Your style, your rules, your space.

Finances: Cost & Value

Imagine where you can take this experience.

  • Web-based tool; needs strong Wi-Fi for smooth animations and interactivity.
  • Some premium templates, brand kits, and offline features are locked.
  • Hotspots may not always link perfectly; large files can load slowly.
  • Best used on a desktop; tablets or phones are less optimal for designing.
  • Some features (animations, media embedding) may take a few tries to master.

I highly recommend using Genially for interactive lessons and both formative and summative assessments. You can create escape rooms, clickable review boards, or even microsites for unit overviews. I’ve used it to gamify lessons while still pushing critical thinking, like turning a writing review into an interactive escape room that challenges students to analyze text, connect ideas, and think strategically. It’s also fantastic for student projects—they can make their own “choose-your-own-path” stories or visual essays, which always turns heads.

Recommendations for Usage

Genially is a powerful, easy-to-use tool that transforms teaching and learning into something interactive, engaging, and fun. It looks fantastic, works smoothly, and has endless creative potential. With that being said, my overall assessment on this tool is a defintie 5 stars!

Genially makes me genuinely happy to teach. It feels creative without being overwhelming, and it gives my lessons a professional, polished look that I couldn’t replicate on my own. It is literally a level up from Canva in my opinion, and I am an active Canva user! My students typically rave when they see Genially, especially because the interactive templates and engaging design bring life to lessons that might otherwise feel dry. Even something like a writing review suddenly becomes exciting, and you can see them eager to pick up a pencil and engage.

Impact

Student Impact: Students notice interactive lessons more, stay engaged longer, and remember material better. That’s hard to put a price on! Teacher Impact: Teachers are able to save prep time, can reuse templates, and make content look amazing without graphic design skills. It’s basically a tool that pays itself back in classroom engagement.

Plan Pricing

Free Plan: You get access to plenty of templates, interactive elements, and basic analytics. Perfect for teachers or students just starting out. Premium Plans: Paid tiers unlock advanced templates, brand kits, offline access, and extra storage. Great if you’re creating high-volume or professional-level projects.
