Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa nasceu em Lisboa, a 12 de dezembro de 1948. É católico, tem 2 filhos e 5 netos.

📌 1985–1989 → Presidente do Concelho Diretivo da Faculdade de Direito de Lisboa.
📌 1990 → Foi promovido a professor catedrático do Grupo de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas (Universidade de Lisboa). 📌 1995–1996 → Presidente da Comissão Instaladora da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade do Porto. 📌 2001–2003 → Voltou a presidir à Comissão Instaladora da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade do Porto. 📌 2004–2005 → Presidente do Instituto de Cooperação Jurídica (Lisboa). 📌 2005–2016 → Presidente do Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas (Lisboa). 📌 2006–2010 → Presidente do Conselho Pedagógico (Lisboa).

- 1973 – Início no Jornal Expresso; torna-se jornalista e acionista minoritário da Sojornal.
- 1975–1979 – Subdiretor do Expresso; cria a secção “Gente”.
- 1979–1981 – Diretor do Expresso.
- 1982 – Escreve para O Diabo sob o pseudónimo coletivo “Agapinto Pinto”.
- 1983–1987 – Diretor e acionista fundador do Semanário.
- 1980–2016 – Dirige a revista E, que muda para Única e volta ao nome original em 2016.

- 2000–2004: Comentador na TVI.
- 2004: Sai da TVI por pressões políticas.
