Na perspetiva religiosa Deus é a origem da vida. É nele que se encontra a plenitude da existência, em toda a sua perfeição, a qual não conhece início nem terá ocaso. O ser humano é um ser vivente porque recebeu de Deus a vida como um dom inestimável.
A melhor maneira de a agradecer é cultivá-la e respeitá-la. A vida humana é o valor primordial e condição de possibilidade de todos os outros valores.
