Have you ever posted a picture on social media and thought carefully about what others would think? Do you usually share only your happiest or most interesting moments online? These questions help us reflect on what we choose to show about our lives. Social media has become part of daily life. We use it to stay connected with friends, to share our experiences, and sometimes to create a version of ourselves that looks happier, more successful, or more exciting. Many people call this “my perfect online life.” In our online profiles, we often highlight the best parts of our day: a smiling selfie, a delicious meal, or a beautiful place we visited. What we rarely show are the boring routines, the stressful moments, or the times when things don’t go as planned. As a result, our profiles may look perfect, even if real life is different. Of course, this is not always negative. Sharing good moments can inspire others, spread positivity, and make us feel proud of our achievements. However, it is important to remember that behind every “perfect post” there is a real person with ups and downs, just like everyone else. Social media shows part of our story, but not the whole picture. The next time you look at your profile, think about it: are you showing who you really are, or just your perfect online version?
