PAST SIMPLE

PAST CONTINUOUS + PAST SIMPLE

We use Past Continuous to talk about an action in progress in the past, and Past Simple for an action that happened suddenly or interrupted it. Usamos Past Continuous para hablar de una acción que estaba ocurriendo en el pasado, y Past Simple para una acción que pasó de repente o interrumpió la otra. * Structure: Past Continuous: was / were + verb-ing → I was watching TV Past Simple: past form of verb → when my friend called Yo estaba viendo la tele cuando mi amigo llamó. EXAMPLES: I was reading a book when the phone rang. They were playing football when it started to rain.
