TYPES OF CONSEQUENCES:
WHY THE VOLCANO ERUPTED?
-ENVIROMENTAL: the lava destroyed many areas of forest and crops. The quality of the air reduced for the ash and for the sulfur's dioxide. It caused the fire increase. When the lava arrived the sea there were changes with the pH of the water, making that some animals were poisoned.-ECONOMIC: homes were destroyed and also infrastructures and farming areas. The tourism dropped and there were a dosing of deals too. This, and many things more, costed more than four hundred million euros. -SOCIAL: more than seven thousand people must left their homes involuntarily. And there were more than one thousand of hectares of farming and deals were destroyed. This concerns to emocions and life of people because they also lose their pictures, memories...
This event appeared for the stack of magma on the base of the volcano, it had between six and eight kilometres of depht. In this area, the preassure and the temperature made that the rock could melt. Creating of this way the magma, which density is lower than the rock around it. For this difference and for the huge quantity of magma, it climbed.
MAIN FACTS:
The island, La Palma, is located in the Canary Islands archipielago , in Spain.The volcano, called Tajogaite, it's in the centre and in the south of the island. We can find it in the region called Cabeza de Vaca situated in El Paso. This natural disaster began the 19th of September of 2.021 and it lasts eighty five days and eight hours. The Tajogaite had four thousand one hundred twenty metres above the sea level.
