Some basic info

abour COIL methodology

In Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), students from different countries work together in virtual teams to complete activities and projects that develop intercultural, academic, and professional skills. 1. Professors from different institutions design shared activities or projects that fit their respective course objectives. 2. Students engage in initial interactions to build rapport, often through discussion boards, video calls, or collaborative platforms. 3. Teams work synchronously on tasks such as case studies, presentations, debates, or research projects. They exchange ideas, compare perspectives, and apply course concepts in real-world contexts. 4. Throughout the collaboration, students discuss cultural differences, communication styles, and professional practices, fostering intercultural competence. 5. Students present their findings through reports, videos, or live discussions, reflecting on both the academic content and the intercultural learning experience. 6. By engaging in COIL, students develop global awareness, teamwork skills, digital literacy, and cross-cultural communication abilities, preparing them for international collaboration in their careers.
