what is the verb "to be"?
The verb "to be" is the most commonly used verb in the English language, and also the most important. It is used as both a main and auxiliary verb, and is irregular in the past and present tenses. It has four meanings, although the main ones are " to be" and "to be". The four meanings are

¿The positive form of the verb "to be" in the simple present is as follows: - I am - You are - He is -- She is - It is - We are - You are - They are

EXAMPLES
-The transmission is automatic-The tools are on the workbench -He is the head mechanic
NEGATIVE
Negation: To negate, 'not' is added after the verb ' to be' : - I am not.. - He/She/It is not..(or isn't) - You/We/They are not..(or aren't)
EXAMPLES
- The spark plugs are dirty- The brake pads are worn out - The alternator is damaged
QUESTIONS
-Questions: To ask questions, the order of the subject and the verb 'to be' is inverted: -Am I....? - Is he/she/it...? -Are you/we/they...?

past
"The past tense of the verb 'to be' has two main forms: 'was' and 'were'. Was: It is used for the first person singular (I) and the third person singular (he, she, it). Were: It is used for the second person singular and plural (you), the firts person plural (we), and the third person plural (they)". I was He/She/It was You were We were They were

- The engine was dirty
- The transmission was broken
- The tires were new
future
The future tense of the verb 'to be' is formed with 'Will be' for all persons. It is used to express states or situations that will occur in the future
EXAMPLES
-The brakes will be replaced during the service - The oil filter is going to be changed tomorrow - The transmission will be inspected by the mechanic
