arms
Your arms help you lift, carry, and reach for things. Each arm has a shoulder, upper arm, elbow, and lower arm. Arms have bones and muscles that work together to move. Your hands are connected to your arms and help you grab things. You use your arms every day for writing, playing, and hugging.
HEAD
Your head is at the top of your body.It holds your brain, which helps you think and learn. Your eyes, ears, nose, and mouth are all on your head. The skull is a hard bone that protects your brain. You use your head to see, hear, smell, taste, and talk.
LEGS
We use our legs to walk, run, and jump. Each leg has a foot at the bottom. Our legs have muscles that help us move. Knees help our legs bend. Animals also use their legs to move around.
BELLY
The belly is in the middle of your body.It holds your stomach and other important organs. When you eat too much, your belly can feel full. Some people call it a tummy. Babies often have round bellies.
SKULL
Your skull is made of 22 bones that fit together like a puzzle — and most of them don’t move!
The skull is the bone that protects your brain. It is hard and strong like a helmet. The skull also holds your teeth in place. Everyone has a skull inside their head. Without a skull, your brain would not be safe.
HUMAN BODY
The human body is made up of many parts that work together. Your heart pumps blood to all parts of your body. Bones give your body shape and help you stand and move. Muscles help you move your arms, legs, and other body parts. The brain controls everything you do, like thinking, walking, and talking. Your lungs help you breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. The stomach helps digest the food you eat. Skin covers your whole body and protects it from germs and injury.
CHEST
The chest is the part of your body between your neck and your stomach. It protects important organs like the heart and lungs. Your ribs form a strong cage around your chest. When you breathe, your chest moves in and out. Both boys and girls have a chest, but it may look different as they grow.
UPPER LIMBS
Upper limbs include your arms, hands, and shoulders. We use our upper limbs to write, draw, and carry things. Each upper limb has a hand with five fingers.Your elbows help your arms bend. Upper limbs are important for many daily activities.
FACE
Our face has eyes, a nose, and a mouth. We use our eyes to see and our mouth to speak. The face shows how we feel, like happy or sad. We smile and laugh with our face. Everyone’s face looks a little different.
Did you know... Your face has over 40 muscles that help you make expressions like smiling, frowning, and laughing
LOWER LIMBS
Lower limbs include your legs, knees, and feet. We use our lower limbs to walk, run, and jump. Each lower limb has a foot with five toes. Knees help us bend our legs. Lower limbs help us move and stay balanced.
SPINE AND RIBS
The spine is a line of small bones in your back. It helps you stand up straight and bend your body. The ribs are curved bones that protect your heart and lungs. Your ribs are connected to your spine. Together, the spine and ribs keep your body strong and safe.
Your spine is made up of 33 small bones called vertebrae, and it helps you bend, twist, and stand tall!
Most people have 24 ribs — 12 on each side — and they form a cage to protect your heart and lungs!
