San Mames is the temple of Athletic Club de Bilbao. Although this field doesn't seem to have much history, people wonder why the field is called San Mames. The answer is because back when the old San Mames was there, there was a chapel where the new field was built, which was called San Mames. /Athletic is a very honorable and noble team, and that's why it needs an elegant stadium. And even though it's a field that only holds 53,000 people, it seems like it has many more because it roars as if it were a huge field. /A curious fact is that Athletic has never been relegated to the 2nd division, /and we have a tradition of only signing Basque players because we are. UNIQUE IN THE WORLD
