Direct Object Pronouns

A direct object is the person or thing that receives the action of the verb. In Spanish, direct object pronouns are usually placed before the conjugated verb. However, if there is an infinitive or a present participle (-ando, -iendo) in the sentence, the pronoun can either go before the conjugated verb or be attached to the end of the infinitive or participle. ejemplos * Voy a comprar el libro. → Lo voy a comprar. / Voy a comprarlo. (I’m going to buy it.) * Vamos a ver la película. → La vamos a ver. / Vamos a verla. (We’re going to watch it.) * Quiero comer la pizza. → La quiero comer. / Quiero comerla. (I want to eat it.)
