The Optimal Google Business

Learning Lab Objective

Create or optimize a Google Business Profile to include essential business information.

Activity

When you’re looking for a restaurant, store, or service, how often do you check Google first? How do you feel when the information is missing or outdated?

Ice breaker

Experiment Phase

Claim your Google Business Profile if you haven’t already.

01

Review what’s there—look at your description, hours, contact info, and photos.

02

Add optimizations—like posting updates, answering FAQs, or encouraging reviews. This isn’t about being perfect today, but about making sure families can see accurate and welcoming information when they search for you.

Your Social Media Posting Map

Learning Lab Objective

Create an online presence plan using a website and social media to support your enrollment goals.

Activity

Think about a business you follow on social media. What kind of posts make you trust them more?

Question

Experiment Phase

Use this calendar to sketch out one month of posts. Think of themes families would enjoy: daily activities, healthy meals, special events, or reminders about enrollment. Don’t worry about perfect captions—just write the idea. By the end, you’ll have a ready-to-go plan that makes posting easier and more consistent.

Reflection & Debrief

  • Which post ideas do you think will best connect with families?
  • How do you feel about posting now that you have a plan?
  • What challenges might get in the way of following through, and how could you overcome them?

Testimonial Planner

Learning Lab Objective

Establish a customer testimonial plan to enhance your program’s credibility.

Activity

Think about the last time you chose a service or business—did you check the reviews? How did they influence your decision?

Question

Experiment Phase

Write down 3-4 ways you could ask parents for a testimonial.

01

Share one idea with the group—we’ll collect these so you have lots of options.

02

Using the Testimonial Planner, write down at least 2 parents you’ll ask this month and how you’ll do it. This way, you’ll start building a system for regular testimonials.
