TMACOG members develop and implement plans to improve the quality of life in our region. We work together to solve challenges and share resources that address the needs of the region we share, including transportation, water quality, and economic development.

The Winter General Assembly consists of both programming and a business meeting of TMACOG’s General Assembly. Activities include caucus sessions and voting on new leadership, as well as networking, lunch, and a keynote presentation.

The Transportation Summit is an annual forum for meaningful discussion about the future of regional transportation and its role in our economy. Common topics include construction project updates and safety issues.

The Summer General Assembly consists of both programming and a business meeting of TMACOG’s General Assembly. Common topics include the state budget and other issues of interest for local communities. Caucus sessions, networking, a light breakfast, and lunch are included.

During the month of May, TMACOG supports recreational cyclists and promotes the use of bikes for commuting and errands. TMACOG coordinates information and activities from partners across the region during Bike Month.

Water & Wastewater Operator Training

What We Do
What We Do
Water and wastewater operators are required to complete continuing education training for license renewal. At least 50% of the continuing education hours required for certification renewal must be dedicated to operations and maintenance. TMACOG is proud to offer opportunities for member organizations to meet their employees’ educational needs. Topics vary from year to year.

Effective stormwater management provides environmental, social, and economic benefits to local communities. Drainage, erosion, stormwater pollution, and stormwater management regulations are crucial topics for practitioners, elected officials, and the public to understand. Student Watershed Watch

Who We Are
Since 1989, more than 22,000 students have participated in the annual Student Watershed Watch (SWW). SWW provides water quality testing supplies, presentation opportunities, and environmental career exploration for hundreds of students. This event culminates with a summit where the students present their findings.

Date: January/February 2026
The Lake Erie West Region CEDS Summit will highlight the analysis and action steps that surfaced during the creation of a new regional economic development plan for Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood counties.Details of the new Lake Erie West Region Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) will be shared with elected officials, business leaders, economic development practitioners and other community members from across the region. This plan guides regional growth over the next five years by focusing on strategic goals that expand and diversify the economy, enhance workforce development and retention, address housing affordability and access, improve infrastructure and connectivity, and strengthen quality of life, regional identity, and community resilience.
