What does this mean for our students

13 courses listed for 1.0 credit each. That means a student would need 9.6 hours a day of instruction

Our current structure loses 250 minutes per week - and that doesn't include the time it takes students to get between classes. That is 1 credit of instruction.

Requiring 12-14 courses per week (not including Elective) means students have less voice & choice in classes they take

Our graduation requirements are not competitive in the way they are written now.

What does this mean

Courses earn credit based on seat time. Classes average 222 minutes a week. This schedule gives passing time and students are expected to be on time to class. This means - School needs to start promptly at 7:40am; Students will have shorter breaks between each class as opposed to 2 long breaks.

Consistent and clear: makes us competitive for college admissions and transferrability.

Important Note: Students and parents may notice an impact to GPA due to the change in credit calculation. Right Now: courses are all worth equal credit, meaning all courses have the same GPA impact. Changes: courses will reflect accurate credit calculation, meaning core classes will impact GPA more than electives.

Credits will be calculated using the Carnegie system. Transcripts will reflect accurate credit amounts. Transcripts, credits, and graduation requirements will all match.

A/B Block Schedule

Week A: Periods 1, 2, 3, 4 meet 3x weekWeek B: 5, 6, 7, 8 meet 3x a week Rotating Wednesdays A/B All periods meet for an average of 222 minutes
