I have chosen The Canterbury Tales because I think it is a very important book for understanding medieval society.It catches my atention, through different characters, a variety of stories are told that reflect, humor and the customs and criticisms of the time.

Summary

The Canterbury Tales, , is a collection of many stories told by a group of pilgrims traveling to Canterbury Cathedral. Each pilgrim tells their own story, and the tales are very different: some are humorous, others romantic, moral, or critical of society. In these stories, the book gives a vivid picture of medieval life and the different personalities of the people at that time.

Geoffrey Chaucer was a very important English writer, known as the “father of English literature.” He worked at court and traveled to some countries, which helped him learn about different cultures. His most famous work is The Canterbury Tales.
