I felt very nervous but excited at the same time. Managing a large group was challenging. I felt like I wouldn't be able to have good control (which I didn't have), and I also modified certain things in my lesson plan a while before the class, for fear of not finishing anything.
As for my performance, I know the class could have been better if it weren't for my nerves. However, I achieved good results in terms of what I expected from the students. Challenging Moments:
- I froze when students asked questions, I forgot what I knew due to nerves.
- A student corrected a question on the board, which made me doubt my spelling.
Adjustments for Next Practice:
- Improve tone of voice
- Find strategies for classroom control
- Engage students more effectively.
Regarding the SWOT analysis, I added some things that I noticed during and after my first practice, some observed by the observer and others by myself (which I highlighted in bold and italics) in addition to eliminating others that I was sure of before or that will now be helpful to me in the other practices that I am missing.
