Great job! You have quilted your way to cybersecurity expertise! Make sure to share your newly learned information with the people you know!

Scammers find times where they assume people are more distracted. For example, they will send more emails on days where they know a store is having a big sale. This way, people are less suspicious of emails about deals.

Spikes in phishing

The first phishing scams go all the way back to the mid-1990's. Even though it may be a new topic to you, it was actually a term before cell phones, social media, or even search engines were around!

Phishing isn't new!

Older adults are actually less likely to get scammed by phishing. This is becasue younger people are often more impulsive, while older people are cautious and take their time. Share this fact with your grandchilren to surprise them!

Phishing stereotypes

Scammers love to fake things like prescription refills or medical test results. They send urgent emails from what looks like trusted healthcare providers to trick older adults. If you see something that looks odd, check with your doctor!
