Returning to the Moon: The Artemis Missions

Nasa is sending astronauts back to the Moon for the first time in 50 years. Click on each astronaut below to learn more.

Artemis I

Artemis IV

Artemis IV will introduce a space station called Gateway that will orbit the Moon.

Artemis III

Artemis III will send humans to land on the Moon to explore the lunar south pole.

Artemis I

Artemis I was a flight test around the Moon with no astronauts on board. It launched on November 16, 2022 and the mission lasted 25 days.

Returning to the Moon: The Artemis Missions

The Artemis Missions will land the first woman on the Moon, along with the first person of color. The missions include a couple of test flights, a Moon landing, and building a space station to orbit the Moon. NOTE: This video says humans will go to the Moon in 2024, but as of 2025, they have not gone yet.

Artemis II

Artemis II will be another flight test, this time with a crew on board.
