Capital Controls® Chlorine Dioxide
Three Models:
G50 series generators use commercially available chlorine gas and 25-31% sodium chlorite to produce up to 2,500 PPD (50 kg/h) of chlorine dioxide on a single skid for water treatment, ideal for applications where chlorine gas is used for primary disinfection.
De Nora has leveraged Capital Controls’ expertise in completing hundreds of chlorine dioxide installations around the world to develop the next stage in chlorine dioxide production - a modern, flexible, and safe line of chlorine dioxide generators.
Because it does not promote the formation of TTHM or HAA disinfection byproducts (DBP), chlorine dioxide is ideal for pre-oxidation of surface water for drinking water applications. Chlorine dioxide oxidizes iron and manganese, is effective over a wide pH range, and does not react with ammonia
T70 series generators use commercially available 31% hydrochloric acid and 25-31% sodium chlorite to produce up to 529 lb/day (10 kg/h) of chlorine dioxide for water treatment, without requiring chlorine gas or sodium hypochlorite (bleach).
OXICORE U Type chlorine dioxide generator. Fully-liquid, underwater system designed for high efficiency and safety, with a modular development that enables flexible plant layout and easy upgrade or downgrade of capacity.

UC Davis C3 Series UV
Serving the University of California, the UC Davis Campus consists of 40,000 students. As our population grows and our environment becomes hotter and drier, having ways to reuse campus water makes a big difference. The team at the UC Davis WasteWater Treatment Plant knew the original wastewater design had become obsolete.
De Nora assisted with their significant system overhaul, including a UV light to sanitize wastewater as it passes through the UV light system. The UV light system requires fewer light bulbs and less maintenance as new bulbs are installed only about every 16,000 hours. In addition the team can proactively see problems and accurately track how much water passes through each UV lights section, all helping UC Davis reach their sustainability goals.

Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP)
Arlington, VA County
The Arlington, VA County Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) reports nitrogen effluent to below 2.0 mg/L, down from a 1985 level of 19.5 mg/L; and phosphorous levels below 0.1 mg/L. The innovative DE NORA TETRA Denite system used site-captured methanol to reduce effluent nitrogen and a flexible and scalable system design that handled regular heavy wet weather events as effectively as normal flow. This resulted in:
Nitrogen Removal with filtration rates of 1-3 gpm/ft2 (2-7 m/h), designed to achieve complete denitrification and peak hydraulic rates up to 6 gpm/ft2 (12 m/h), designed to efficiently handle wet weather events.
Suspended solid removal from wastewater effluent lowering BOD by 1 mg/L or more while at the same time reducing nitrogen, phosphorous and heavy metals contained within effluent solids.
With proper chemical treatment, the plant is consistently achieving effluent total phosphorous concentrations of <0.2 mg/L. De Nora filters easily meet <2 NTU or < 5 mg/L TSS with typical results of <2 mg/L TSS.
Scottsdale, AZ Water Campus
The Scottsdale, AZ Water Campus was built in the 1990s and quickly became a state-of- the-art wastewater treatment/recharge facility, initially filtering 20 million gallons per day (MGD), with a 10 MGD advanced water treatment plant utilizing microfiltration (MF) and reverse osmosis (RO).
Upgrades to the advanced water treatment facility in 2011 and 2012 to 24 MGD included a 20 MGD UV reactor to treat NDMA (Nitroso-dimethylamine - a semi volatile organic chemical that is a toxic and carcinogenic water contaminant) and other potential contaminants.
The Indirect Potable Reuse and the Treatment of NDMA allowed the Water Campus to continue its commitment towards allowing Scottsdale to ensure that a reliable, long-term water supply remains available.

Moapa Valley Water District in Nevada
To meet arsenic level regulations, the Moapa Valley Water District in Nevada conducted a 10-year total cost analysis that estimated the use of a ferric oxide adsorptive media would cost 5–6% less than a coagulation/filtration process. The parallel flow configuration installed in 2009 required almost no maintenance aside from media replacement.
“Because of the ease and reliability of operation, the District has been able to minimize rate increases and bolster consumer confidence.” - Moapa Valley Water District
