Objectives set: To educate WI members on the benefits of storytelling for mental health and wellbeing. 150 members estimated to benefit from the training and then share that experience across the 180+ WI’s within Hampshire.
Staffordshire Federation
Project: Mindful Crafting
Objectives set: To provide crafting opportunities to encourage mindfulness for up to 270 members.
Leicestershire & Rutland Federation
Project: Physical and Mental Health Program
Objectives set: To equip members of the L&R federation with essential first aid and mental health awareness skills to support their communities. First Aid to train 72 members, Mental heath awareness training 48 members, with the aim of training 2 members per WI within the Fed to maximise the impact across the counties.
Oxfordshire Federation
Project: "Slow Stitching" Sustainability
Objectives set: Provide opportunities for at least 180 women within Oxfordshire to build on OFWI’s 2024 short-listed resolution and the WI’s commitment to environmental action and social inclusion and utilise pre-loved garments and textiles builds skills, confidence, and community connections.
Glamorgan Federation
Project: Day Skills workshops
Objectives set: To provide opportunities for members to build skills in crafting, kickstart interest in similar activities run by the federation, raising awareness of the organisation to retain current membership and attract new members. Expected to reach 220 members (6% of the federation)
Angelsey / Sir Fon Federation
Project: Health and Wellbeing
Objectives set: Enhance physical health, improve mental wellbeing, promote nutrition and healthy eating, foster social connections and develop practical first aid skills. Expected to reach all 300 members.
Derbyshire Federation
Project: Workshops, Jam, Craft and Technology
Objectives set: To enhance the education of their members whilst developing skills within the community and promote sustainability. Expected to directly deliver to 128 members.
Hertfordshire Federation
Project: Bridging the Digital Divide
Objectives set: To build confidence in members to interact with digital offerings and the use of technology, overcome barriers and provide equipment and resources, improve members communication skills through apps and programs such as Whatsapp, email and Zoom and build security awareness when using technology to promote secure and informed use of digital platforms. Aim to reach 300 members within the first year.
Wiltshire Federation
Project: Domestic Violence First Responder training
Objectives set: 100-200 members but overall objective is to make a safer space for women in Wiltshire by helping support victims by providing trained women to listen to their experience and be able to help them to seek further help.
North Yorkshire West Federation
Project: Residential Weekend
Objectives set: To build relationships and friendships across North Yorkshire West and provide up to 60 members the opportunity to take ideas and inspiration that can be used to enhance their own WI’s.
Guernsey Federation
Project: Crafting for the Community
Objectives set: To provide members with a ‘Denman Experience’ as many did not have the opportunity to attend the college due to travel costs, but to also support the community by making items for local charities, no numbers have been provided for how many members will benefit from the project.
