Forums
TimeyWimeyTeacher: Reddit is perhaps the most popular forum site on the internet, but any website can have a forum. I-Already-Booked-My-Next-Vacation: Forums are spaces where people can interact online about specific topics or fandoms. This typically happens in "threads" or "conversations." SpiritedTeacher: Each thread is about a different topic. Ships (putting characters into relationship), Favorite Episodes/Moments, FanArt and FanFiction, and General Topics are very common forum threads. Fotography-Phan: Each forum is set up a little differently, but there are typically major topics and then people can comment. Some allow you to "bump" up responses so they get more attention in the forum (because they are more popular, so they get listed first). TimeyWimeyTeacher: @SpiritedTeacher It's also a great space to interact with people online who love the same things you do. Just like Eliza and her online friends, true friendships can be built just by chatting through forums. I-Already-Booked-My-Next-Vaction: People who make sure that threads stay on-topic, make sure that people are being nice, and delete content the owner deems "inappropriate" are called moderators. Fotography-Phan: These people are basically... the police of the forums.

Fan Fiction!
FanFiction is a story that is based on the original story, but did not happen in the original work. These are sometimes:
- Alternate worlds - same characters but in completely different circumstances like - take a fantasy character and put them in a high school on Earth... how do they react?
- Same world, new scenario - an alternate episode of a TV series, or a story that fits into the arc of the story.
- Continuation - What happens after the author's end of the story?
- Ships - stories about characters in relationships that don't have a relationship in the original story (or whose relationship is underdeveloped)
- "Fix Fic" - Sometimes fans think the author screwed up a point, so they try to fix what tthey wrote.
Fan fiction is a great way to show how much you love a story, but still have freedom to be creative and change how the story goes.

For some people fandom is their community and their support system, the people that belong to that fandom are almost like family. You've gotten a tiny peek into what this is like. Your keyword for this section is *fandom* (be sure to include the astrixes)
