An Instructional Designer (ID) will reach out to you about 12 weeks before the semester begins, or within a couple of days of being assigned if it is less than 12 weeks, to kick off your design partnership. If you are not sure who your ID is, you can look them up from the
website. Login to submit a Canvas Help request, and find the option

Define Your Course Learning Objectives
Course- and Module-level objectives are the foundation on which your course is based. This “mini-course” offers guidance for how to define these, as does your Instructional Designer.
Develop an Assessment Strategy
Decide how you will measure the achievement of the course objectives, as well as provide ample opportunities for practice along the way.
Consider Ways to Engage Students in Active Learning
Students should interact meaningfully with the course content, their peers, and you—the instructor—to foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Select and Develop Instructional Materials
Present course materials using a variety of different formats and media to make your course dynamic and stimulating.
Select the Best Tools for the Job
Incorporate a variety of technologies, from multimedia elements to collaborative platforms, to create an enriching environment that promotes active learning.
Prepare for Launch
Update your course for the current term to ensure a seamless and stress-free experience for your students.
