He was born in Stratford in 1564 and he was one of 8 children. His family weren't rich. We don't know nothing about some period of his life. In 1582 he got married with Anne, a local girl. He had three baby girls. Nobody knows why he began to wrote but he wrote some plays and ''The mercant of Venice'' is one f them . William became rich and he bought some property around the world. He died in 1616 and he is considerate the greatest plays writer.

Plot and charachters

Main characters:

1. Antonio, a rich merchant2. Shylock a moneylender 3. Portia, an intellient girl 4. Jessica, shylock's daughter 5. bassanio, Atonio's friend

the plot:

Bassanio wants to marry Portia but he needs money. His friend Antonio borrows money from Shylock, a moneylender but if Antonio can't repay it Shylock will take a pound of his flesh. Bassanio guess the right casket and he marry Portia.Antonio's ship are lost and Shylock demands the penalty but Portia defends Antonio. Shylock can take the part of body but not spill any blood, so Shylock loses and Antonio is safe.

Principal themes and personal opinion

1. The old and backward system

2. The justice and loyalty

In the books you see how girl are bound like the choice of houseband maybe it's the father fault as this case, and in my opinion is important treat about this specefic theme beacouse in some state this rule still exist. Today in other countries women are not yet completely free and in my opion it's a difficoult theme to write in a book.

Porzia shows loyalty and justice for who have always done good thing and I really like this part bacouse for me goodness always win. I really like Portia's character beacouse she was very brave even thought it was a period when womwn werw considered inferior.

Thanks for attentions
