Industry and Market Changes
Industry and market changes are structural shifts in how an industry works or how a market behaves. They can come from regulation, technology, globalisation, or new business models. These shifts often create gaps that old players can’t (or won’t) adapt to quickly. That gap is where innovation thrives.

Examples:
New distribution models
Technological shifts
Regulatory/Policy changes
E-books changed publishing; streaming changed entertainment.
Direct-to-consumer brands (like Warby Parker for glasses) cut out middlemen.
Renewable energy subsidies created huge opportunities for solar and wind companies.

Demographic Changes
When discussing Demographic changes within the sources of innovation we typically mean shifts in characteristics of people involved in the innovation.
Continue
Examples
More women in areas such as Entreprenureship and STEM
Frugal and inclusive innovation
Senior focused innovations
Continue
Changes in Perception
This is when society starts to think differently, new desires and needs are discovered. Businesses can then innovate to match these new expectations.
