A Sentnece
Let's Recap what is a sentence!
It is a group of word that expresses a complete thought in an organized matter. The main format of a sentence is: 1. Begins with a CAPITAL LETTER! 2. Has an action word/phrase, known as a verb. 3. It ends in a punctuation mark. (., !, ?)
But now, are all sentences the same? Of course not, they are a variety of type. But in our class we are gonna discussed the 4 main type of sentences.
Interrogative
Declarative
Exclamative
Imperative
The sky today is pretty clear.
Declarative
One of my favorite food is a good plate of rice, beans and chicken.
These sentences make a statement or share information. They always end with a period (.).
Lately, the heat has been pretty intense.
Who wants to eat some pizza?
Interrogative
How many classes are left until we can go home?
These ask questions and always end with a question mark (?).
What is my favorite ice cream flavor?
Mario, can you jump.
Imperative
Hey class, make silence!(Mr. Jean most of the time)
These give commands, requests, or directions. They usually end with a period (.) but can also end with an exclamation mark (!) if the command is strong.
Let's close the windows.
Oh no, my food just fell!
Exclamative
The moon is so beautifull tonight!
These express strong emotions or feelings and end with an exclamation mark (!).
I want to go home already!
An awesome presentation...
