La scuola e il territorio
Il territorio, di vocazione prevalentemente turistica, è caratterizzato dal terziario avanzato. È ricco di risorse dal punto di vista ambientale, turistico e culturale. Vi sono istituzioni che storicamente operano in ambito sociale e nel campo della cultura (Università, Università per stranieri, Accademia Chigiana, Accademia dei Fisiocritici, Palazzo delle Papesse, Teatro dei Rinnovati, Teatro dei Rozzi, Siena Jazz, Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali "R. Franci", Museo dell'Opera Metropolitana, Complesso Museale Santa Maria della Scala...). Il liceo ha in atto numerose collaborazioni con associazioni, aziende, enti pubblici e privati, sia per la realizzazione di eventi/opere (Amministrazione Comunale, Azienda Ospedaliera, associazioni culturali e artistiche), che per le attività PCTO (Universita', associazioni/enti culturali e artistici, contrade, aziende di servizi alla persona o comunque operanti nell'ambito sanitario o sociale, scuole del primo ciclo).
Liceo Artistico “Duccio di Buoninsegna” di Siena. È stato fondato nel 1962. L'edificio che lo ospita era sede dei laboratori dello scultore senese Tito Sarrocchi (1824 – 1900). I calchi di alcune opere dello scultore sono ancora conservati nella scuola. L'edificio si trova nel centro storico di Siena ed è adiacente alla Basilica di San Domenico e vicino alla Biblioteca Comunale degli Intronati.
