GenAI as a co planner
- AI is a tool, not a replacement for good teaching or ideas-pedagogy/andragogy first
- Lead by example: model Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, Ethics
ethicAl Considerations

Integrity
- Transparency-Credit Ai
- Include chat history and/or prompts in reference list
- Do not completely copy and paste Ai output
- Develop "Intellectual skill"
- Rephrase output and give credit
- Direct quote and cite
- Look for incorrect information; "hallucinations"
Citing Gen AI
In text citation, use Open AI or other generative AI tool as the author. Example from Text: OpenAI. (2023). ChatGPT (May 3 version) [Large language model]. https://chatopenai.com/chat

Practical Applications
- Brainstorming
- Writing assistance
- Passive voice
- Style; Reading Level
- Embedded Tools e.g. Grammarly; Microsoft, Google
- Research
- Suggest topics
- Construct arguments/counter arguments
- Literature Review- Use Caution!
Activity
Using a Generative AI (GenAI) tool of your choice, try out a few prompts (see list below or choose your own) that you and reflect on the response from the GenAI tool. Examples:
- Give 5 low-tech participation strategies for large classes that take ≤3 minutes each.
- Provide choice board options (create, analyze, apply, reflect) for digital literacy, all doable with low bandwidth
- Rewrite this paragraph at a 6th-grade reading level, keep key terms, and remove idioms: (add your own paragraph)
- Design a 2-minute routine for entering class and getting started with devices. Output as a step-by-step card.
- Provide offline or paper-based alternatives to a live poll that still produce analyzable data.
- Make a troubleshooting mini-script for when a tool fails mid-lesson (what I say, what students do).
