Charles Dickens was born in Portsmouth, England, on February 7, 1812, and he died at Gads Hill Place on June 9, 1870.Us a child, he loved reading and writing. When he was young he was poor, which is why he loved talking about poor people and social injustices in his books.He loved writing, thatre, and travellig. His stories were realistic and emotional, with strong and deep characters. He wrote 15 main novels and many short stories and articles. Dickens had a big family: he had 8 children and a wife, Catherine Hogarth, but their marriage was not happy.
