Plan a menu of choices
As you plan your choices, please consider backwards planning. Think about the objectives you want students to meet and design your choices to support students in meeting those objectives. Turn in your menu of choices and a reflection. Consider some of the questions below.
- Why are you offering choice? How will it benefit students?
- How will you inform students of their choices and guide their choice making?
- What limitations are you putting on the choices being offered?
Implement Choice
Choose somewhere in your current class to offer student choice. Make sure to make a plan using the tips you've learned in this module. After you've implemented the choice based content or assessment, turn in any evidence of the choices offered (screenshots, video, etc) and a reflection. Consider the questions below
- What considerations did you make prior to offering choice? How did you inform students of the choices?
- What were the outcomes of offering choice? Did you see student success?
- What will you change the next time you offer choice (or do this specific activity) to improve the outcomes?
Further research
