National Finals joining instructions

You will recieve joining instructions for the National Finals.Including:

  • Accommodation details
  • Competition venue information
  • A timetable for the week Any special instructions you need to be aware of

Parental consent forms

  • If you are under 18 you will need written consent from a parent or guardian to take part in the competition

Announcement of Finalists

  • Scores are quality assured, and finalists will be announced on the WorldSkills UK website
  • The list of finalists can be found on this link

Finalist training

  • Competition Organising Partners will support your preparation for the National Finals by providing training and development activities
  • You can also use the Mindset Masterclasses and Productivity Skills resources on the Learning Lab to help build focus, resilience and effciency for peak performance

Developmental feedback from National Finals

  • You will receive feedback on your performance at the national finals highlighting strengths and areas for development to help you moving forward

Competition preparation activities

  • To help you prepare for entry, use the benchmarking assessments on the Learning Lab. If you haven't got a Learning Lab account, ask your educator to register you via their account
  • Get involved in local competition activity that may be taking place in your college or place of employment
  • Visit WorldSkills UK website to find out what each competition invovles, this information can be found in the technical handbooks

Entry stage

  • This is the first stage of the competition, involving a remote activity lasting 1-2 hours
  • Entry test dates will be emailed individually for each competition

Developmental feedback from qualifiers

  • You will receive feedback on your performance at the national qualifiers highlighting strengths and areas for development

National Finals

  • Showcase your talents at the National Finals (dates TBC)

Squad UK

  • Those who are age eligible and have achieved a benchmark score may be invited to opt into squad UK, and ultimately have chance of representing the UK at the WorldSkills International competitions in Japan 2028

Registration

  • To compete your registration, please ensure you accept the term and conditions
  • Review the core competencies to ensure you understand what the competition will entail
  • Register here

National qualifiers

  • The national qualifiers take place over a day either physically at venues across the UK or online, depending on the competition
  • A list of all qualifier heats can be found here

Medal ceremony

  • All medallists will be announced at the medal ceremony taking place at the International Convention Centre in Newport, Wales
  • We will also be holding the medal ceremony for the foundation skills competitions at Cardiff and Vale College

  • Speak to your educator or employer about how they can support you to register for the national competition

Pre-qualifier competition preparation

  • After receiving your qualifier joining instructions, keep preparing using the tools and resources on the Learning Lab
  • Practice resources can also be found on the individual competition web pages

Confirmaton of progression to next stage

  • Successful entrants will be notified by email or SMS. A copy will be sent to your point of contact
  • Joining instruction for the qualifier stage will be sent to you with all the key information you need to help you prepare
