1) Did you guess right the reason why he took a knee and the consequences? He knelt to show his support for the black lives matter movement. This movement was created after the killing of George Floyd by a policeman.
In consequence he was fired from his team. But he won the Ambassador of Conscience Award and started a movement of support across America. 2) In which ways is Kaepernick’s gesture connected to the 1968 Olympics Black Power salute? Their gesture was to show support for black people’s rights, they are all athletes and made their gesture during the national anthem.
