Directions: Sort the following sentences, fragments, or run-ons to the correct heading. Simply click and drag to move it to its appropriate spot.
Note to teachers: you can use this on an interactive white board whole-group (Promethean will import Power Point files) or in small group. If your students have computers of their own, you could have them do this in pairs, save their answers, and either submit them electronically or print them as an exit slip.
Also, if using the paragraph to edit on a whiteboard, you’ll want to turn off the editing features so the program won’t underline errors, pointing them out to the students.

My dog jane is the best dog ever she does tricks and everything! when we try to teach her a new trick we feed her apples as treats. Better for her than typical dog treats. Jane’s best trick is her high-five it’s really cool! eating her apples and wagging her tail. You can tell she really likes them. I don’t know which trick to teach her next. Play dead or roll over. She’ll probably learn both of them pretty quickly. She is really a smart dog and loves to learn.
