RULES
I. The Objective
Your party must work in concert to journey across the game board, answering questions drawn from the life of the Birthday Boy. Your ultimate goal is to gather enough Birthday Items to empower yourselves for a final confrontation with the Paintress herself.
II. Movement & Progress
The path is laid out before you, a linear track of spaces leading to the final boss.
The Game Master (GM) will present a question pertaining to the Birthday Boy.
Correct Answer: Your party proves your connection to the subject. Advance 1 space.
Incorrect Answer: Your failure has drawn the attention of the Paintress. Perla imposes a Challenge upon your party.
III. Perla's Challenges
When you answer incorrectly, you must face a trial set by Perla. These are physical or creative tasks meant to amuse and humble you.
Upon successful completion of her challenge, you prove your resilience and may advance 1 space.
Failure in her challenge results in shame, but no progress. You remain in place, and the journey continues.
IV. Birthday Items & Power
Scattered on this adventure are Birthday Items (e.g., The Candle of Wishes, The Streamer of Joy, The Frosting of Fortitude).
Collecting these items is crucial. They are tokens of celebration that strengthen your party's resolve.
For every 3 Birthday Items your party collects, you will unlock a powerful Team Advantage (e.g., One free pass on a question, the ability to ask for a hint, etc.), decided by the GM.
V. The Final Confrontation
The journey culminates in a battle with the Paintress, Perla.
To face her, your party must have collected a minimum of 4 Birthday Items.
The final challenge will be a grand, multi-part question or a series of rapid-fire queries about the Birthday Boy. Your collected advantages may be used here.
Victory restores all color and joy to the celebration, earning you glory and cake.
Defeat means the monochrome haze remains... until you dare to expedition again.
