You must submit an absence request as soon as you know you will be absent or as soon as you miss one class/one day.
- The request must have evidence - requests without evidence will be refused.
- Evidence must be submitted within 7 days.
- Unexplained absences that last more than 5 consecutive days will be followed up - your progression Coach will contact you and your agent may be contacted.

How to check your attendance

You can check your attendance on the student portal by clicking this button: Your attendance will be divided, in percentages, into:
- Overall (this is the attendance we and UKVI monitor)
- Present (percentage of classes attended on time)
- Late
- Unauthorised absences (including being more than 10 minutes late)
- Authorised Absences
When you scroll down, you will be able to see your attendance per month. Attendance is calculated as a percentage of Present (/) + late within 10 minutes (L) and overall.
The codes you will see for each class correspond with an attendance mark. Click below to find out more:

Termination Meetings
If you get three warnings (Level 2 or Level 3) in any period, you will be asked to meet regarding being removed from your course.The meetings will be with:
- A member of the Senior Leadership Team (Center Director or Deputies)
- A member of Data & Operations for note-taking
- A member of Student Experience (Wellbeing or Progression) to support you
The meeting can be very stressful, as the discussion will be about terminating your studies, and visa, and we appreciate this.We have prepared some advice to help you prepare for these meetings to minimise stress.:

What evidence is accepted?
You will receive your study plan and must meet with staff. The level of seriousness depends on how many months you had under <70% If your attendance level remains at this level or falls below in any other month, you may meet with the Senior Leadership Team and you will be considered for course termination
You are required to attend at least 85% of your scheduled classes. This is tracked every month. Failure to attend can result in you being withdrawn from your studies and revocation of your visa.
At this level, your attendance does not meet the required percentage to continue study. You will receive your study plan and must meet with school staff. If your attendance level remains at this level or falls below, You may meet with the well being team or Centre Director and you will be considered for course termination
What you should do Use the contact form if you have valid evidence. From now on, request absences from the classes you will miss. Ensure your attendance will increase - talk to your Progression Coach or with the Wellbeing team
You must read the entirety of the Attendance Policy available on the Virtual Reception. This is a student-friendly version that covers some paspects in more details.

- Note down the meeting in your calendar
- Set an alarm on your phone
- Arrive at least 5 minutes earlier
- If you have class, tell your tutor about the meeting - you will be excused.
- Ensure you are in the correct room
- Pictures of yourself
- Pictures of medication
- Pictures of thermomether
- Medical notes from non-UK doctor
- 'Paid for' medical notes / Medical notes from services that only provide 'fitness to work/study' notes at a cost
- Evidence not in English
- Evidence translated with AI
- Evidence which does not have a date or where the dates don't match
Types of evidence not accepted
- Medical notes from a UK doctor (GP, dentist, psychologist, etc.)
- Evidence of medical appointments in the UK
- E-mail from sponsor for meeting
- Death certificates, funeral notices, newspaper obituaries, etc. (translated in English)

- Ensure evidence is in English
- Make sure your evidence covers the periods absent
- If you are unsure about your evidence, reach our to your Progression Coach
Reasons for missing class that will not be accepted, even with evidence:
- Not seeing e-mails/timetable
- Public transport issues
- Taxis/uber arriving late or not finding a taxi in time
- Oversleeping
- 'Being a new student'
- Going to the bank
- Working
- If a health issue constantly forbids you from attending class - 'Fitness to Study' may be considered
Please be advised this is not an exhaustive list.
Ensure you attend the meeting. Come prepared with evidence. Note: Medical notes must be from a UK doctor Make sure your attendance improves.
Reasons that we can approve absences for, where we have evidence:
- Bereavement
- GP/dentist appointments
- Mandatory meeting with sponsor (for sponsored students)
Other reasons may be approved, however they will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and will require evidence
You will receive a study plan by email. If this happens again, a meeting with school staff may be required. Your attendance needs to improve.
