Your list should include an equal amount of reach, match, and safety schools.

• Reach Schools- schools that have an average GPA/Test scores that are higher than your GPA/Test Scores.
• Example- School’s Average GPA is 3.8. Your GPA is 3.5.

• Match Schools- schools that have an average GPA/Test scores that are about the same as your GPA/Test Scores.
• Example- School’s GPA is 3.5. Your GPA is 3.5.

• Safety Schools- schools that have an average GPA/Test scores that are lower than your GPA/Test Scores.
• Example- School’s GPA is 3.2. Your GPA is 3.5.

If you are able to, visit the college and take a tour on campus. The colleges record who comes to their campus and will add it to your application file. Make sure you keep an eye on the ECCS HS News Homepage for information about college visits provided by ECCS.

While on campus, you may have an opportunity to do an interview. Take advantage of the interview tell them why you are the best prospective student for their school. If you are not able to get on campus, but are able to make it to a college fair, that counts as a visit as well. You can find college fairs on the NACAC website.
