Students will gather around in circle for class disscussions, each student will leave their belongings behind and push their desk or table into others to make a circle, students are facing inwards and are quiet while waiting.
Students will have a notice on the board when a disscussion will take place 1-2 days before and the day of, students will have a practice discussion the first week. Discussions aim to have students talk about relvant topics and ask questions to other students. Students should raise their hand for a quick moment to let everyone know that they will be talking next.
There will be a poster at the front of the class explaining this rule, everyone should be respectful of whomever is speaking at the time. There will be no side disscusions, interupting or not paying attention to the speaker. If there is a group disccussion, students should visually notfiy the teacher that they want to speak and then will proceed when ready. Any questions or talking should be relevant.
Only one person should be talking at a time in class, unless there is groups talking activities. Any time someone is talking including other students, the class will be listening and looking at said person and giving them respect.
When class starts I will roll call for attendance, one student at a time, no interupting and no calling in for other students. If someone is not at the door after the first 30 seconds after the bell rings, then the student will be marked absent, unless there is an exception.
The first day of class will go over this routine and students will practice saying "here" when their names are called. Students should know the rules of attendance taking and are expected to not shout innapropriate things or get off topic. Students can quietly talk to one another while roll is being taking but cannot be to loud or dissruptive.
