100th Infantry Batallion
The 100th Infantry Battalion, also known as the "Purple Heart Battalion" and "One Puka Puka," was a World War II unit of American Nisei (second-generation Japanese Americans) from Hawaii. The battalion's bravery was critical in countering prejudice against Japanese Americans. The mobile health vehicle is part of Kaiser Permanente’s ongoing commitment to provide access to high-quality health care services to our members and the communities we serve. The 40-foot-long vehicle, named Keēwemauliola, meaning the sprout of health and wellness, is staffed with Kaiser Permanente care clinicians and equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, two full-size exam rooms, a lab/med prep area, and a physician documentation station.
