I - Météo et Climat A) La différence entre météo et climat (activité 1) Activité 1

La météorologie et la climatologie étudient les conditions atmosphériques (précipitations, températures…), mais à des échelles de temps et d’espaces différentes : - La météorologie mesure le temps qu’il fait grâce à des instruments (thermomètre, pluviomètre…). Elle est déterminée sur une courte durée, et sur des petites surfaces. - La climatologie est basée sur des calculs des moyennes (de températures et des précipitations) sur des temps longs, sur des surfaces très vastes.

B) Les grandes zones climatiques (activité 2) Activité 2

La Terre, comme toutes les planètes, reçoit de l’énergie solaire. En raison de sa forme sphérique, cette énergie solaire est inégalement répartie à sa surface : - Excédentaire (plus) à l’équateur - Déficitaire (moins) aux pôles - Cette inégale répartition de l’énergie solaire est à l’origine des grandes zones climatiques sur Terre, et donc des répartitions différentes de la faune et de la flore.

II- Les mouvements des enveloppes fluides (atmosphère et océan)
A) Les vents = les mouvements atmosphériques (activité 3)

Les vents correspondent à des déplacements de masses d’air.- A l’équateur, les masses d’air chauffent, montent en altitude et se dirigent vers les pôles. Ce sont les vents chauds. - Aux pôles, les masses d’air se refroidissent, descendent vers la surface de la Terre et se dirigent vers l’équateur. Ce sont les vents froids. Vents : déplacements de masses d’air dus à des différences de températures.

B) Les courants océaniques = les mouvements océaniques (activité 4)

Les courants océaniques correspondent à des déplacements de masses d’eau. Les courants océaniques correspondent à des flux de chaleur : - A l’équateur, l’eau de surface se réchauffe, et se dirige vers les pôles. - Aux pôles, l’eau refroidit, plonge en profondeur et se dirige vers l’équateur. Courants océaniques : déplacements de masses d’eau dus à des différences de températures.

C) Le couplage vents-courants océaniques (activité 5)

A la surface des océans, les frottements des vents provoquent le déplacement des masses d’eau créant des courants océaniques de surface. On parle de couplage vents et courants océaniques.

III- La notion de risque (activité 6)

Un risque correspond à la combinaison d’un aléa et d’un enjeu. Risque = Enjeu x Aléa Aléa : correspond à la probabilité de survenue d’un phénomène. Enjeu : prend en compte le nombre d’habitants et les infrastructures.
