grades.

35/65 split...

how am i graded?

How do i earn participation points?

LIVE INSTRUCTION:

  • Attend scheduled Zoom at 8:05am
OR
  • Watch recording of Zoom after 8:05am recording populates

GUIDED INSTRUCTION:

  • Attend scheduled Zoom at 8:05am
OR
  • Complete Edio lesson

LIVE INSTRUCTION means that there is no Edio content for the day. You must attend the Zoom session or watch the recording to earn daily participation points. GUIDED INSTRUCTION means that Edio work may be completed asynchronously (ie. on your own time) to earn daily participation points. However, you may choose to attend live to earn your daily participation points. If you attend with me, you don't need to complete Edio content, unless it is an assignment or test.

The other 65%-Assignments... here's a look at Q1

Unit 1-Assignment: RACES Graphic Organizer (18%) Unit 1-Quiz: Complete Sentences (6%) Unit 1-Assignment: Crafting a Research Outline (18%) Unit 1-Assignment: Submitting Your Research Paper Draft (18%) Unit 1-Test: Of Heroes and Heroism (15%) Unit 1-Project: Submitting Your Research Paper (25%)

Daily lessons in Edio can tend to be overly detailed and somewhat repetitive. Why did I keep it that way?

I chose to keep the course in the original form because 1.) it's my first go-round with English 12 at CCA 2.) it's easier for students to have the information twice than to go sifting back through old lessons to find information

I'll app share to show you around!

things to think about...

If you attend live sesion on Zoom, then Edio is only necessary if you need practice...but your points are already earned!

If you're working in Edio and get stuck on a participation question, that's ok! You can skip a question and still get participation credit--but ask for help if you need it!

Most of what you do in Edio is for participation so don't sweat the small stuff. Assignments, writings, quizzes and tests will be part of the 65%.

For these first few weeks, please don't get too far ahead of me! I have edited lessons through 9/12/25 and will try to stay a full week ahead. You getting too far ahead of me makes more work for both of us--no good!

You are dismissed!
