System Changes

Introduction
Market-Wide Half Hourly Settlement is progressing further and all staff need to be aware of what this will mean for us as a business. There are a few changes coming in to place, the programme is gradually building in preparation for 2026. In this training pack you will find out about all of the system changes which will affect you.
Which Systems will be affected?
The below table lists all applications and which changes will affect them. We will go in to more detail of each in the next few pages.

The only part which will be changing within AIS is the MPAN Topline within the MPAN page. Our customers will also be able to see this on Smartweb.
The images to the right show how the MPAN Topline will be shown within AIS & Smartweb.
Smartweb
The main thing which will be affecting DESM is the 22 character long MPAN. There have been changes in the background for this to be accounted for. As users you should not see any changes.

This is a comparison of what the new MPAN number will look like within DESM.
If anything does not work correctly within DESM or the tariff creation, please raise this as soon as possible to be investigated.
Below are the key areas which are changing within Futura due to the MPAN Topline changing and Reverse Migration.

The view of the whole MPAN will also change to include the MPAN Topline
The Profile and MPAN areas will be changing within the Information screen in Futura when you open an account. This will show the new MPAN topline configuration. All other processes will happen automatically and so you will not see anything else change.
Below is the key area which is changing within Honeycomb due to the MPAN Topline changing and Reverse Migration.

The only visible change to users, will be the MPAN Topline on invoices. Other than this, everything else will happen in the background automatically.

There is only one change, there will now be a tariff table lookup used in the background for finding the correct tariffs for our customers given the new data that is used. Users will not see this but it will use the SSC to help determine the tariff.
If a combination does not match and so doesnt work with the pricing tool, we would need to obtain the correct / valid topline from the customer to provide them with valid prices.

New User Interface
There will be sections within the Supply Period window which are changing. All the changes are to improve the flow of AFMS
The Colour Palette will be changing due to many users reporting they found the original colours difficult to read.
Customer Tab will be changing slightly aswell as the Service tab, all of these changes are to improve the information we can gain from this.

MPANs
There will be a new Linked MPAN's screen where applicable.
The MPAN Summary will have a few items added, including the Supplier DIP ID, reconnection date, Distributor DIP e.t.c.
The MPAN Details will be changing, having a few items added including Annual Consumption, many others.

Within the Agents tab, there are multiple different tabs. Under Current Agents, there will be a new DIP ID with Roles assigned too. Here you can see the current Agents, there are also lists of previous agents, the periods these have been assigned and the Change of Agent (COA) Process for if there is a COA active.

Certain existing wizards will not be avaliable for selection for MHHS enabled sites. These wizards will be greyed out.
Alerts
Alerts were introduced as part of Faster Switching. To highlight missing messages as part of the Central Switching Service (CSS) registration and loss process. As part of the changes being introduced with MHHS, ESG have looked to expand the existing functionality to apply to some of the new Data Iintergration Platform (DIP) processes as well as introducing some new alerts for enduring Data Transfer Catalogue (DTC) processes.

Broker Portal
There will now be the functionality within the Broker portal to enter the new MPAN Topline and this will pull the required information from EES. Click the image above to view this full screen!
Supply Period
The Supply Period page will have the following changes, you can view the image larger by clicking it!
Consent Granularity - this means accepting a flow does not mean you have accepted the whole action, this will be broken down in to parts and so we are informed of which processes we are accepting.
CoSP (Change of Service Provider) indicator which has Progress traffic Lights
No CoSP in progress Request flow received CoSP in progress
MHHS Enabled means that the supply is already set up in the MHHS world. If we were to take on this supply, we would have to Reverse Migrate it.
Energy Direction will also be added and so we know if this is an import or export meter. Export we would not provide as these require certain tariffs for Renewable Energy production.
The Market Segment Indicator will show the meter is SMART or NON-SMART, this will help us when we do qualify for MHHS knowing which meters we need to exchange.

To prevent double handling of possible exceptions through AFMS and CRM, processes which would trigger the following intergration flows have not been considered for an alert:

The old version was more washed out and a paler colour, making the white text difficult to read for some users

There will be a couple of additions to the Service Tab in preperation for MHHS.
- Connection Type - These are clarified by a 'W' (Whole Current) 'CT' (Current Transformer)
- Connection Type Effective from Date - When / if the connection type has changed
- Traditional / Fallback Read Frequency - How often the meter is read manually by a meter reader
Within the Customer Tab, there will now be a section confirming the Consent Granularity Effective From Date which is when it will mean requests are split in to all the parts and each need to be accepted.
Meter Smart Advanced Tab
There will be a new section added in AFMS which has just Smart Advanced meter readings, If the meter is not smart it will not have this section. This is so that once we have all the data we will be receiving from Half Hourly for every meter the system can cope with this and it is easy to understand.
There will be the expand icon at the left of every row in the table where configurable read information is available for the same Reading Date and Time. Where only cumulative read data is found, the option to expand the configurable read information for that reading date will not be available. Click the image to view full screen!
