DURING THE DOCTORAL JOURNEY

The doctoral student and their supervisory committee interact regularly, according to the frequency defined upon admission to the doctoral programme. Within a maximum of 24 months from the date of final admission, the doctoral student presents their confirmation exam.

The purpose of the confirmation exam is to determine, based on the progress of the candidate's research, whether it is likely to result in the presentation of a doctoral thesis.

Thesis Completion: Private and Public Defense

When the supervisory committee considers that the thesis is ready to be submitted and that the doctoral training has been completed, the supervisor submits a proposal for the composition of the thesis jury. At least one month after the thesis text has been sent, the jury meets in full for the private defence and discusses the candidate's research results with them. The public defence takes place at least one month after the private defence. The doctoral student publicly presents the results of their research. Further information on the organisation of the end of the thesis can be obtained from the doctoral administrator.
