Career & Technical Education
At CCA, students can explore hands-on career pathways—similar to what some families may remember as “Vo-tech.” These programs focus on real-world skills and high-demand jobs in the trades and technical fields.
Instead of ending at high school graduation, CCA offers postsecondary opportunities through the Evidence-Based Graduation Pathway, which includes:
🔹 Concurrent or Postsecondary Courses
Students can start college-level or trade school courses while still in high school—earning stackable credentials that lead to better jobs and higher pay.
🔹 Acceptance into a Postsecondary Institution
This includes trade schools, technical colleges, community colleges, or any school that aligns with the student’s career goals.
ACCEPTANCE TO AN ACCREDITED FOUR-YEAR NONPROFIT INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND
EVIDENCE OF THE ABILITY TO ENROLL IN COLLEGE-LEVEL, CREDIT-BEARING COURSEWORK
If a student doesn’t score Proficient or Advanced on all three Keystone Exams (Algebra I, Biology, and Literature), they can still meet graduation requirements by showing proof of acceptance into a 4-year college.
To qualify through this pathway, students must:
- Pass their local school courses in Algebra I and Biology.
- Provide proof of acceptance into a 4-year non-profit accredited college.
This proof can be:
- A letter of non-conditional acceptance into a specific 4-year program, OR
- A general acceptance letter plus one of the following:
- College placement test results showing readiness for college-level courses
- Confirmation of enrollment in college-level (non-remedial) courses
- A strong academic profile, including:
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- 85% attendance in grades 11 and 12
- Completion of advanced English and Math courses (beyond Keystone-level)

- I would like to suggest a field trip. Who do I contact? Thelma Mayo, tmayo@ccaeducate.me
- Are there any opportunities for Caretakers-only? Coffee chats are an excellent option for caretakers to attend. They are themed each week (ex., Coffee Talk: CEO and President Tom Longenecker, Coffee Talk: Careers at CCA, Debbie Reynolds, Coffee Talk: Curriculum and Instruction: Joanna Shelley, etc.). There are also Learning Coach Outreach Sessions, which cover various topics, including tips and tricks on finding success with your learning in a virtual session.
- Are field trips free? Many offerings are free for CCA families. Those that have a cost are filterable in the edio field trip portal. Some families may receive a discount if they qualify for free and reduced lunch.

CCA Internship Course Information Students participating in the CCA Internship Course have the unique opportunity to explore a specific career over 60 or more hours. While at CCA, students enrolled in the Internship Course, will receive a 0.5 high school credit upon successful completion of the internship. Students may complete two internships while at CCA. The Internship Course is offered each Fall, Spring, and Summer. Fall and Spring Semester internships take place over a 15-week period, while Summer Semester internships occur over a 6-week period. Students may identify their own internship host or select from pre-identified internship hosts**. Participating in a CCA-approved internship begins with students submitting an Internship Application. For more information about CCA Internships, email internships@ccaeducate.me. CCA Cooperative Education Program (Co-Op) Co-Op is a structured way schools combine classroom and work-based learning. Co-Op requires the agreement of the learner, caretaker, school, employer, and others. Learners gain valuable on-the-job training, while earning HS credit for graduation, AND being paid for their work! For more information on Co-Op, please contact your School
Students may obtain 3 certificates for 3 pieces of evidence.
- Credential Lists with links
- PDE's list of credentials without links
- Everfi Credentials -
- If a student completes a certification, please send your homeroom teacher and school counselor a copy of their certification(s). Again, each certification equals a piece of evidence.
Hotspot Information for Families
If your household has limited or no internet access, you can request a hotspot to support your student’s learning. Please note: families who are approved for a hotspot will no longer receive the Instructional Technology Support (ITS) Subsidy, unless they are experiencing homelessness. Important Reminder:
When the hotspot is no longer needed—whether your student withdraws, finishes the school year, completes summer school or ESY—it must be returned with all items included in the original box. This allows us to inspect the device and ensure the battery is still in good condition, helping prevent any future issues for your family or others.

Career & Technical Education
At CCA, students can explore hands-on career pathways—similar to what some families may remember as “Vo-tech.” These programs focus on real-world skills and high-demand jobs in the trades and technical fields. Instead of ending at high school graduation, CCA offers postsecondary opportunities through the Evidence-Based Graduation Pathway, which includes: 🔹 Concurrent or Postsecondary Courses Students can start college-level or trade school courses while still in high school—earning stackable credentials that lead to better jobs and higher pay. 🔹 Acceptance into a Postsecondary Institution This includes trade schools, technical colleges, community colleges, or any school that aligns with the student’s career goals.

- Pass their local school courses in Algebra I and Biology.
- Provide proof of acceptance into a 4-year non-profit accredited college.

Learners gain valuable on-the-job training, while earning HS credit for graduation, AND being paid for their work! For more information on Co-Op, please contact your School
Students may obtain 3 certificates for 3 pieces of evidence.
Hotspot Information for Families
If your household has limited or no internet access, you can request a hotspot to support your student’s learning. Please note: families who are approved for a hotspot will no longer receive the Instructional Technology Support (ITS) Subsidy, unless they are experiencing homelessness. Important Reminder: When the hotspot is no longer needed—whether your student withdraws, finishes the school year, completes summer school or ESY—it must be returned with all items included in the original box. This allows us to inspect the device and ensure the battery is still in good condition, helping prevent any future issues for your family or others.
