  • If blow breaths looked rushed, student is probably not strong enough to have independent breath exchanges.
  • If a student opens their mouths in the water, or their face enters the water without a balloon face, they are not FP. Don't introduce multiple breaths

Look For:

Requirements:

  • Horizontal body position
  • Even breath exchange is maintained
  • Gentle Paddle Arms
  • No panic swims
  • Solid underwater breath control
  • One strong exhale above water (no bubbles)
  • Exhale occurs as soon as they are above water
    • Exhale first, then inhale

"Superman Arms or Improper Body Positioning?

Add more equipment or decrease distance
