INVISIBLE PROP Objective:
To encourage creativity, imagination, and teamwork by incorporating an invisible prop into an improvised or devised scene. Instructions: Click on the Invisible Prop Box to generate a random prop. Students must imagine the prop is physically present and use it creatively in their performance. This game can be played in two ways: Improvisation:
- This can be done individually or in groups.
- Once the performer(s) are selected, use the Prop Generator to choose an invisible prop.
- The performer(s) must improvise a scene that incorporates the invisible prop, imagining that it is there and interacting with it as part of the scene.
Devising a Scene:
- Divide the class into groups.
- Each group can use the Prop Generator to select a different prop, or all groups can use the same prop generated from the game.
- Each group works together to devise a short scene that incorporates the invisible prop as an integral part of the story or narrative.
TIP: Encourage students to focus on how they interact with the invisible prop and make it believable for the audience. This game develops performance skills, storytelling, and imagination!
